BERLIN, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- The world's leading farm machinery fair, Agritechnica, opened on Sunday in Hanover, Germany, launching a week-long exhibition dedicated to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in modern farming.

Held under the theme "Touch Smart Efficiency," this year's event has attracted around 2,800 exhibitors from 52 countries and regions, focusing on innovations in agricultural machinery, digital technologies, and connected farming systems.

Among all the exhibitors, China stands out with a strong presence, ranking third with 250 exhibitors, after Germany and Italy. A record 68.5 percent of exhibitors come from abroad, reflecting the fair's growing international reach.

"Agriculture is under tremendous pressure," said Lothar Hoevelmann, managing director of the German Agricultural Society (DLG), ahead of the opening. He noted that Agritechnica 2025 provides a platform to present solutions for sustainable productivity growth and to foster dialogue between practice, science, and industry.

According to the DLG, the organizer of the fair, about 430,000 visitors are expected to attend this year's event, nearly matching the record attendance of more than 470,000 in 2023.
