Two dead in explosion at underground mine in Australia, police says

SYDNEY (Reuters) -Australia police said on Tuesday two people were killed in an explosion at an underground mine in the far west region of the state of New South Wales.

Emergency services were called to a mine about 450 km (280 miles) east of the remote mining town of Broken Hill early Tuesday morning after being told two people had been critically injured in a workplace incident, police said.
