India's industrial production growth remains unchanged at 4 pct in September


NEW DELHI, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- India's factory activity growth, determined by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP), stood at 4 percent in September, the same as in August, government data showed Tuesday.

Growth rates of three sectors, mining, manufacturing and electricity for September are -0.4 percent, 4.8 percent and 3.1 percent, respectively, the data showed.

The data revealed that within the manufacturing sector, the top three positive contributors for September are manufacture of basic metals (12.3 percent), manufacture of electrical equipment (28.7 percent) and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (14.6 percent).
