China CITIC Bank lists bonds on London, Hong Kong stock exchanges

LONDON, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited's London Branch on Monday marked the dual listing of its 300 million U.S. dollar floating rate notes on both the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The listing represents the bank's first bond issuance on the London Stock Exchange and a major step forward in its global development strategy, the bank said.

A market-opening ceremony, held at the London Stock Exchange, was attended by senior representatives of China CITIC Bank, the LSE, and members of the China-Britain business community.

The notes were issued under the bank's 5 billion U.S. dollar Medium-Term Note Programme and received strong demand from global investors, according to the bank.

Founded in 1987, China CITIC Bank is one of China's first emerging commercial banks and an active participant in both domestic and international financial markets.
