Cameroon commissions Chinese-built headquarters of public works ministry

YAOUNDE, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Cameroonian Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on Tuesday inaugurated the headquarters building of the Ministry of Public Works, built by Sinohydro Corporation Limited, a Chinese engineering and construction company.

At the inauguration ceremony in the capital, Yaounde, Ngute thanked Sinohydro "for professional and good quality work."

The Cameroonian government is committed to equipping public institutions with modern infrastructure to enhance performance and efficiency, the prime minister said.

According to the Ministry of Public Works, the high-rise complex comprises four interconnected blocks, offering "a modern and functional working environment."
