NEW YORK, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.41 percent to 98.152 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.1704 dollars from 1.1653 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.3410 dollars from 1.3335 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 149.44 Japanese yen, lower than 149.89 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.7975 Swiss francs from 0.8004 Swiss francs, and it slipped to 1.3937 Canadian dollars from 1.3943 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 9.4041 Swedish kronor from 9.4766 Swedish kronor.
