Belarusian GDP grows by 1.6 pct in first 8 months

MINSK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Belarus' gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 1.6 percent year on year at comparable prices in the January-August period, the country's statistical committee announced Wednesday.

The country's GDP in January-August 2025 amounted to 180.1 billion Belarusian rubles (about 53.2 billion U.S. dollars) at current prices, according to the committee.

The GDP deflator index in January-August amounted to 112.3 percent compared with the same period of 2024, it said.

Belarus' economy grew 4 percent in 2024, slightly higher than predicted.
