NEW YORK, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 34.86 points, or 0.08 percent, to 44,946.12. The S&P 500 fell 18.74 points, or 0.29 percent, to 6,449.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 87.69 points, or 0.4 percent, to close at 21,622.98.
Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with financials and technology leading the laggards by falling 1.12 percent and 0.75 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, health and real estate led the gainers by rising 1.65 percent and 0.68 percent, respectively.
