Belarus inflation rises to 7.4 pct in July

MINSK, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Inflation in Belarus climbed to 7.4 percent year-on-year in July, up from 7.3 percent in June and 7.1 percent in May, the country's statistical committee said Monday in a press release.

On a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index rose 0.2 percent in July from June, said the committee.

According to the release, food prices in July posted the sharpest annual increase, rising 10.6 percent, while non-food goods were up 3 percent and services climbed 7.6 percent over the same period.
