MEXICO CITY, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- At least seven inmates were killed and 11 others injured after a riot broke out at a prison on Saturday afternoon in the city of Tuxpan in the eastern Mexican state of Veracruz, the state's Secretariat of Public Security said Sunday.
National Guard troops, along with personnel from the National Defense and the state's Secretariat of Public Security, regained control of the Social Reintegration Center on Sunday morning following the riot, the secretariat said in a social media post.
