U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.18 percent to 97.214 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
