JERUSALEM, July 22 (Xinhua) -- U.S. carrier United Airlines resumed flights to Israel, operating a direct flight from Newark Liberty Airport in the United States to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv on Tuesday.
The airline suspended its flights to Israel on June 13, when the 12-day war between Israel and Iran broke out, and recently decided to resume flights after conducting a comprehensive situation assessment.
Another U.S. carrier, Delta Air Lines, is scheduled to resume flights to Israel on September 1. American Airlines has not flown to Israel since the outbreak of the multi-front conflict in October 2023, with no date announced for a return.
This month, Italian airline Neos and Bulgaria Air are also expected to resume flights to Israel.
