Crude futures settle higher

NEW YORK, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices advanced on Thursday.

The West Texas Intermediate for August delivery gained 1.16 dollars, or 1.75 percent, to settle at 67.54 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery added 1 dollar, or 1.46 percent, to settle at 69.52 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
