CAIRO, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Fire flared up again Thursday evening at the Ramses telecommunications building in central Cairo, days after a blaze there left four dead and 27 injured, Egyptian media reported.
According to the state-run Al-Ahram news website, the renewed fire broke out suddenly but was quickly brought under control by Cairo's civil protection forces.
Authorities said the incident was linked to residual effects of Monday's fire, which had raged for hours before being extinguished, the report said.
Monday's deadly blaze caused widespread disruptions to phone and internet services. A security source told the official MENA news agency that an electrical short circuit was the likely cause, though criminal lab experts will collect evidence from the scene to determine the exact origin.
