VIENNA, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Austria's inflation rate in June is expected to reach 3.3 percent, the highest level since May 2024, according to a flash estimate released Tuesday by Statistics Austria.

Thomas Burg, director general of statistics at Statistics Austria, called the data "the highest level since May 2024." He noted the energy sector is the main driver of the increase, explaining that "fuel prices had a much less dampening effect than recently."
