ISLAMABAD, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's first artificial intelligence (AI)-focused data center has been launched in the port city Karachi to support the country's growing digital and AI ambitions.

Developed by Data Vault Pakistan, the solar-powered facility was designed to serve startups, researchers, enterprises, and government institutions with high-performance computing, GPU-as-a-service, and secure cloud infrastructure.

The center offered local access to advanced AI tools, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign platforms, while ensuring data security through sovereign infrastructure.

According to the company, the facility will also support academic research and enable faster deployment of AI models.

The launch aligned with Pakistan's broader national strategy to advance AI development, digital self-reliance, and data protection.
