Magnitude 6.5 earthquake strikes Russia's Kuril Islands, EMSC says


(Reuters) -A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck Russia's Kuril islands on Friday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said. The quake was at a depth of 12 km (7.46 miles), EMSC said.
