U.S. dollar ticks down


NEW YORK, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.45 percent to 98.786 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.1421 U.S. dollars from 1.1375 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.3558 dollars from 1.3525 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 142.81 Japanese yen, lower than 143.91 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar dropped to 0.8178 Swiss francs from 0.8238 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3665 Canadian dollars from 1.3716 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.5725 Swedish Kronor from 9.6231 Swedish Kronor.
