Crude futures settle higher


NEW YORK, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices advanced on Friday.

The West Texas Intermediate for July delivery gained 33 cents, or 0.54 percent, to settle at 61.53 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for July delivery increased 34 cents, or 0.53 percent, to settle at 64.78 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
