Urgent: Nicusor Dan leads in Romanian presidential runoff: exit polls


BUCHAREST, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Nicusor Dan is leading in Romania's presidential runoff election, according to exit polls released after voting closed on Sunday.

Dan, the mayor of Bucharest, is projected to secure 54.9 percent of the vote while George Simion, the head of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians, has 45.1 percent, according to the exit poll conducted by the AVANGARDE Socio-Behavioral Studies Group.
