Belarus' GDP up 2.8 pct year on year in Jan.-April


MINSK, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian gross domestic product (GDP) grew 2.8 percent year on year in the January-April period of 2025, data from the country's statistical committee showed on Friday.

The GDP volume in current prices within this period amounted to 81.4 billion Belarusian rubles (around 25 billion U.S. dollars), the country's statistical committee said.

The GDP deflator index in January-April 2025 compared to the previous year amounted to 106.6 percent.

In 2024, Belarus' economy grew by 4 percent, 0.2 percent more than the government predicted.
