U.S. dollar little changed


NEW YORK, April 17 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar was almost flat in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.01 percent to 99.375 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.1373 U.S. dollars from 1.1386 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3269 U.S. dollars from 1.3229 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 142.46 Japanese yen, higher than 142.10 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar rose to 0.8188 Swiss francs from 0.8143 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.3841 Canadian dollars from 1.3880 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 9.6191 Swedish kronor from 9.7584 Swedish kronor.
