2 dead after migrant boat sinks in Aegean Sea: Greece's coast guard


ATHENS, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Greece's coast guard said on Monday that it had recovered the bodies of two women and found 39 migrants on the island of Farmakonisi, following the sinking of a boat in the Aegean Sea.

A rescue operation is underway to locate any additional survivors, as the 39 rescued individuals have been transferred to a larger nearby island, according to Greek authorities.

The total number of people on board the vessel, their nationalities, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
