Namibia announces 5.8 bln USD budget


WINDHOEK, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Namibia's new Minister of Finance and Social Grants Management, Ericah Shafudah, on Thursday presented a budget of 106.3 billion Namibian dollars (about 5.8 billion U.S. dollars), increasing development expenses by 22.6 percent to 12.8 billion Namibian dollars.

Shafudah said the appropriation bill of 106.3 billion Namibian dollars represents a six-billion increase from the one announced by her predecessor, Iipumbu Shiimi, last year.
