EU adopts 47 strategic projects to boost raw materials capacity

BRUSSELS, March 25 (Xinhua) -- The European Commission on Tuesday adopted 47 strategic projects to strengthen the European Union's (EU) raw materials supply chain and diversify its sources. It described the move as a major step under the bloc's Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA).

The CRMA, which took effect on May 23 last year, aims for the EU to meet 10 percent of its own extraction needs, 40 percent of its processing, and 25 percent of its recycling requirements for strategic raw materials by 2030.
