Chinese film premieres in Bulgaria to warm reception

SOFIA, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The movie "Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants" premiered in cinemas across Bulgaria on Friday, receiving a warm welcome from experts and viewers, with hopes for more Chinese films to come.

The film is being shown in 37 theaters across the country, according to Victoria Bogdanova, general manager of Forum Film Bulgaria. She noted that audiences will have an opportunity "to experience the film on the big screen not only in Sofia and major cities but also in smaller towns nationwide."

Bogdanova, the theatrical distributor of the film in Bulgaria, said, "It has long been my dream to bring an epic wuxia film to Bulgarian audiences."

She also said that she would be more than happy if Forum Film Bulgaria and other theatrical distributors could introduce more Chinese films to the Bulgarian audience. "I see great potential for this to grow over time, and we will strive toward that," Bogdanova said.

Aksiniya Koleva, the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, who watched the film, said that it was visually spectacular, had a powerful impact, and featured cutting-edge cinematic techniques. "I believe the film will be a great success... I really enjoyed it immensely," Koleva said.
