U.S. dollar ticks down


NEW YORK, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar decreased in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 0.81 percent to 106.748 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro increased to 1.0473 U.S. dollars from 1.0368 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.2688 U.S. dollars from 1.2572 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 150.18 Japanese yen, lower than 150.54 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8975 Swiss francs from 0.9035 Swiss francs, and it was up to 1.4499 Canadian dollars from 1.4459 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 10.5575 Swedish kronor from 10.7706 Swedish kronor.
