U.S. stocks close mixed


NEW YORK, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended mixed on Wednesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 188.04 points, or 0.43 percent, to 43,433.12. The S&P 500 added 0.81 points, or 0.01 percent, to 5,956.06. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 48.88 points, or 0.26 percent, to 19,075.26.

Seven of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with consumer staples and health leading the laggards by going down 1.86 percent and 0.69 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, technology and utilities led the gainers by going up 0.89 percent and 0.37 percent, respectively.
