Xu Chenyan wins MVP at WCBA All-Star Weekend

HANGZHOU, China, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- The 2024-25 Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) All-Star Weekend concluded Sunday, with Xu Chenyan earning MVP honors, while Hu Duoling and Zhou Yueming claimed victories in the skills challenge and 3-point contest, respectively.

The North All-Star team defeated the South squad in an offensive showdown, with Jiangsu center Xu leading the way with 29 points and six rebounds to secure the MVP trophy.

For the South team, Li Meng contributed 22 points and four assists, while Yang Shuyu added 17 points.

In the skills challenge, Zhejiang's Hu Duoling defeated Jiangxi's Yang Kejing to take the title. Meanwhile, Heilongjiang's Zhou Yueming scored 19 points to win the 3-point contest.

Innovative technology played a role in this year's All-Star Weekend. During the game, South team guard Wang Siyu walked onto the court with a robot dog, and her teammate Li interacted with it during a break, offering fans a unique blend of basketball and modern technology.
