U.S. stocks close higher

NEW YORK, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Monday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 167.01 points, or 0.38 percent, to 44,470.41. The S&P 500 added 40.45 points, or 0.67 percent, to 6,066.44. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 190.87 points, or 0.98 percent, to 19,714.27.

Nine of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with energy and technology leading the gainers by going up 2.15 percent and 1.45 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, financials and health led the laggards by dropping 0.79 percent and 0.06 percent, respectively.
