Cancer responsible for 1 in 5 deaths in Mongolia

ULAN BATOR, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality in Mongolia, accounting for one in every five deaths, according to the country's National Cancer Center (NCC) on Tuesday.

"A total of 4,755 people died from cancer in Mongolia in 2024, accounting for one in five deaths in the country," the NCC said in a statement on the occasion of the World Cancer Day, which falls on Feb. 4 each year.
