U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar softened in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.19 percent to 107.797 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).
