Train accident kills 11 in India's Maharashtra state


NEW DELHI, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 persons died and six others were injured in a train mishap in India's southwestern state of Maharashtra on Wednesday, an Indian Railways official confirmed.

The mishap occurred in Pachora area of Jalgaon district, Maharashtra, when the Karnataka Express train hit passengers of the Pushpak Express train who had alighted from the train on the tracks.

Some of the injured were said to be in critical condition.
