NEW YORK, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks jumped on Wednesday, driven by strong bank earnings and softer-than-expected inflation data, which bolstered investor sentiment.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 703.27 points, or 1.65 percent, to 43,221.55. The S&P 500 added 107.00 points, or 1.83 percent, to 5,949.91. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 466.84 points, or 2.45 percent, to 19,511.23.
