U.S. dollar ticks down


NEW YORK, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 0.12 percent to 108.129 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.0418 U.S. dollars from 1.0433 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound lost to 1.2526 dollars from 1.2548 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 157.99 Japanese yen, higher than 157.23 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar advanced to 0.8991 Swiss francs from 0.8867 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.4415 Canadian dollars from 1.4402 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 11.0466 Swedish Kronor from 10.9598 Swedish Kronor.
