U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Thursday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.05 percent to 106.137 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0557 U.S. dollars from 1.0563 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound added to 1.2690 dollars from 1.2673 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 151.50 Japanese yen, higher than 151.03 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar advanced to 0.8830 Swiss francs from 0.8819 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.4010 Canadian dollars from 1.4031 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar increased to 10.9206 Swedish Kronor from 10.9132 Swedish Kronor.
