U.S. dollar ticks up

NEW YORK, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.54 percent to 107.554 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.0411 U.S. dollars from 1.0484 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.2525 dollars from 1.2602 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 154.81 Japanese yen, higher than 154.51 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar advanced to 0.8945 Swiss francs from 0.8863 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3981 Canadian dollars from 1.3964 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar dropped to 11.0449 Swedish Kronor from 11.0508 Swedish Kronor.
