U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.43 percent to 106.479 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0566 U.S. dollars from 1.0612 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.2705 U.S. dollars from 1.2736 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 155.55 Japanese yen, higher than 154.75 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar increased to 0.8859 Swiss francs from 0.8824 Swiss francs, and it added to 1.3999 Canadian dollars from 1.3946 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 10.9817 Swedish kronor from 10.9065 Swedish kronor.
