U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.52 percent to 105.544 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.0651 U.S. dollars from 1.0714 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.2862 dollars from 1.2913 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 153.77 Japanese yen, higher than 152.69 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar climbed to 0.8809 Swiss francs from 0.8761 Swiss francs, and it advanced to 1.3926 Canadian dollars from 1.3914 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar increased to 10.8486 Swedish Kronor from 10.8283 Swedish Kronor.
