U.S. dollar ticks down

NEW YORK, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased by 0.27 percent to 103.884 at 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro climbed to 1.0879 U.S. dollars from 1.0848 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound dropped to 1.2954 U.S. dollars from 1.2958 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 152.15 Japanese yen, lower than 152.96 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar lost to 0.8637 Swiss francs from 0.8704 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3898 Canadian dollars from 1.3925 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 10.7227 Swedish kronor from 10.7296 Swedish kronor.
