Free Russian language learning launched in Niger

NIAMEY, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Free Russian language learning activities and courses at the Russian House in Niamey, capital of Niger, were launched on Monday, with a massive participation of learners.

This is an ambitious initiative aimed at opening new cultural and linguistic perspectives for learners, while strengthening relations between the two countries, according to the promoter.

These courses are intended to prepare students and other people wishing to go to Russia, allowing them to become familiar with the Russian language and have a basis for communication needs, the promoter said.

On June 12, the Russian House, a non-state institution, was inaugurated in Niamey. The director of the Russian House, Bello Issoufou, said that the opening of this cultural institution shows relations between Niger and Russia are improving.
