Olympics | Twins Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi win China's 1st Olympic duet gold in artistic swimming


PARIS, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- World champions Wang Liuyi and Wang Qianyi won China's first-ever Olympic duet gold medal in artistic swimming at the Paris Games on Saturday.

The twins led the duet technical routine with 276.7867 points and finished fourth in the duet free on Saturday night, scoring 289.6916 points and totaling 566.4783 for the victory.

Kate Shortman and Isabelle Thorpe of Britain took the silver medals with 558.5367, edging Bregje de Brouwer and Nootje de Brouwer of the Netherlands into third place by 0.1404.
