PARIS, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Portugal's duo of Iuri Leitao and Rui Oliveira made history when they claimed the gold medal in the 50-kilometer men's Madison race at the Olympic velodrome on Saturday.

It is the first gold medal Portugal have won on the cycle track in Olympic history, and comes just two days after Leitao had taken silver in the men's Omnium.
