Lightning strikes kill 8 in India's Bihar


NEW DELHI, June 26 (Xinhua) -- At least eight people were killed due to lightning in India's eastern state of Bihar, officials said Wednesday.

Heavy rains and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes lashed the state during the past 24 hours.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed sympathy with the victims' families and announced monetary relief for them.
