Xinhua, Belga ink MoU to boost cooperation

BRUSSELS, June 18 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Patrick Lacroix, CEO of Belgium's Belga News Agency, in Brussels on Tuesday, in a move to deepen cooperation between the two agencies.

"Belga is Xinhua's important partner," Fu said. Starting from this MoU, Xinhua and Belga will further deepen practical cooperation and bring bilateral ties to new heights, he added.

Fu voiced his hope that the two news agencies will collaborate to tell compelling stories about the China-Belgium friendship, enhance technical exchanges in artificial intelligence and media convergence, and jointly produce more news products with international influence.

Lacroix welcomed Fu's visit, saying that Belga and Xinhua share a long history of ties and enjoy broad prospects for cooperation.

The signing of the MoU will leave a strong mark in the history of exchanges between the two agencies, he added.
