YANGON, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 500 kg of methamphetamine and 200 kg of ketamine in a recent operation in eastern Myanmar, the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control said on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Kengtung township of the eastern Shan state last Saturday, and seized the drugs, the committee said.
The seized narcotics was approximately worth 5.7 billion kyats (about 2.71 million U.S. dollars), according to the committee.
Two suspects were arrested for the case and charged under the country's Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substance Law, it said.
