6.0-magnitude earthquake rocks Japan's Noto region

TOKYO, June 3 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 jolted off Japan's Noto region in the central prefecture of Ishikawa early Monday, according to the latest reports of the country's weather agency.

The temblor occurred at 6:31 a.m. local time at a depth of 14 km, measuring upper 6 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in parts of the prefecture, said the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).
