One killed, another injured in U.S. Oakland shooting

SAN FRANCISCO, May 29 (Xinhua) -- A shooting in East Oakland, U.S. state of California, left one man dead and another injured Tuesday night, authorities said.

The victim, an Oakland resident, died from his injuries at a hospital, authorities said. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Another Oakland male resident, who was believed to be involved in the shooting, arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds, officials said.

He was in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.

The police department's homicide unit is investigating the shooting, officials said.
