U.S. dollar ticks up


NEW YORK, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Tuesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.35 percent to 105.412 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.0751 U.S. dollars from 1.0775 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound decreased to 1.2507 U.S. dollars from 1.2568 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 154.73 Japanese yen, higher than 153.91 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.9092 Swiss francs from 0.9060 Swiss francs, and it advanced to 1.3734 Canadian dollars from 1.3660 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was up to 10.8699 Swedish kronor from 10.8071 Swedish kronor.
