BAGHDAD, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Iraq exported about 106.11 million barrels of crude oil in March, the country's Oil Ministry announced on Monday.

About 104.68 million barrels were exported from oil fields in central and southern Iraq via the port of Basra, 967,492 barrels from the Qayyara oilfield in the northern province of Nineveh, the ministry said in a statement citing preliminary statistics from the State Organization for Marketing of Oil, an Iraqi company.

A total of 464,453 barrels were sent to neighboring Jordan, said the ministry.

In February, Iraq exported about 99.59 million barrels of crude oil, the ministry said in an earlier statement issued in March.

Iraq's economy heavily relies on crude oil exports, which account for more than 90 percent of the country's revenues.
